Apostle Dr. Rebecca Murray
The culture of Heaven is honor.
Jesus told his disciples to pray this way: “Thy Kingdom come thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. In other words, what’s in the heavens should be in the earth.
We hear Jesus in the New Testament say things like: “I only do what the Father tells me to do. I only say what He tells me to say. I came to do the will of my Father.” In other words, I honor my Father so much, my will does not matter only His will matters.
The Father says: “This is my beloved son, hear him. There is no other name given among men whereby we can be saved, which is the name of Jesus.” Phil 2:9-11 tells us that God exalted Jesus and gave Him a name above all names.
We then read in Matthew 12:31-32 where Jesus says if you speak against the Holy Spirit it shall not be forgiven you. In other words, show honor to the Holy Spirit.
We see the Father, Son and Spirit all honoring one another.
In Revelation 4:8-11 we see the living creatures and the elders and those around the throne of God saying: “Thou art worthy oh Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things and for thy pleasure they are and were created.”
There is a culture of honor in heaven. The instruction of Jesus was to pray “Heaven in the earth.” If honor is in the heavens, then honor must be in the earth. It is the message of the Kingdom of God.
How do we release honor in the earth when we see so much dishonor in the world?
The Bible tells us in Matthew 13:54-58: Jesus could do very little miracles in his own home town. He said: “A prophet is with honor “Except” in his own home town.”
The people of Nazareth did not receive the miracles they could have received because they did not honor Jesus.
~Honor will open a door for you to receive what the man/woman of God carries. It opens you up to receive from the Lord.
~Dishonor will close the door on what they carry. A lack of honor will limit your life. No honor, no blessings.
Say: “Let honor begin with me.”
We first begin with the Word of God. All instruction for our lives is in the word. 2 Peter 1:3.
Honor is not what you say, it’s what you do.
~Honor God. 1 Timothy 1:17
~Honor yourself. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20
~Honor one another. Romans 12:10
~Honor marriage. Hebrews 13:4
~Husbands and wives honor one another. 1 Peter 3:5-7;
Ephesians 5:33
~Honor your parents. (Both natural and spiritual) Ephesians 6:1-3. Especially our older saints.
~Honor those in authority. Romans 13:1-7; 1 Timothy 2:1
~Honor the Lord with your wealth. Proverbs 3:9
God’s word has so much to say about honor. Honor is a condition of the heart. In Matthew 15:7-8, Jesus said: “These people draw near to me with their mouth and honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.”
Honor is not what you say, it’s what you do. If you truly honor someone, there will be a corresponding action. Honor not expressed is honor not felt.
Let honor be our operating standard in the Kingdom. The culture of heaven is honor, now we must demonstrate honor in the earth.
